Meet the Team

Louise has worked as a GP in Bristol and Bournemouth for over 20 years, with a particular interest in sexual health. She has been teaching RSE, including the Respected Programme, in schools for 15 years.

She longs to see young people making properly informed and healthy choices in the area of relationships and sex.

Ron Jenkinson recently retired after 23 years of headship and Executive Headship across 4 Dorset middle schools. He has been a trustee of a growing diocesan multi academy trust and is now a governor at two schools in an area which overcomes many challenges to deliver good education.

Ron currently spends his time volunteering as the School and Community Link at his church and he is also delighted to support Respected because he knows that the programme will empower young people and be accessible and of real practical use to schools.

Dr Festus Adedoyin is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BSc Business Computing with Analytics and also Data Science and AI at the Department of Computing and Informatics, Bournemouth University.

He chose to get involved with Respected because of his research and teaching within health technology and user intervention. He loves the vision of Respected and has a particular interest in enabling organisations to grow. His hobby is eating pounded yam and okra soup with fresh fish, ponmo and goat meat with a chilled coca-cola drink!

Dr Sarah Wattley originally trained in medicine, practising in children’s medicine and public health before moving into strategy work supporting the flourishing of under 18s within the Diocese of Bristol. She is a fervent advocate for young people and started as a volunteer at Respected before joining the board of trustees.

She has three children and is married to Dan an emergency medicine doctor. They love adventuring together as a family, including spending some weeks in Kenya at the beginning of 2022.

Ben Parkin is a recently retired consultant eye surgeon who has a professional teaching qualification and runs specialist training courses in sub-saharan Africa.

He is committed to Respected as a long-standing trustee, fundraiser and educator and is determined to help improve young people’s self-esteem as well as understand better the risks and consequences of decisions they make. When not working, Ben loves to be either in or on the water, preferably the sea!

Geal Stanfield has worked as a nurse and midwife in Edinburgh before moving to the deep south, where she became the mother of four girls.

Navigating teenage years with them, and their friends, reinforced her desire to see all young people realise their precious worth and give them more tools to make positive choices. This led her to be a strong supporter of Respected and then happy to commit time as a trustee.

Bob Lambourne has been the Honorary Treasurer of Respected since 2018. He worked as a Valuer for both Auctioneers and in the Licensed Trade until retirement in 2015.

He is married to Judy with two children and seven grandchildren and has a lifelong love of sailing. His first task every morning is to set the date on his Rubik’s cube perpetual calendar!

Beth is a qualified youth worker, having gained her degree in Youth and Community Work in 2014. She is a longstanding member of the Respected team and heads up our Educator Team as well as helping to develop the programme.

Beth has also worked as a carer for looked after children and has a particular passion for supporting disadvantaged young people overcome the challenges they face.

Hannah is our Publicity and Development Lead. She promotes Respected through direct and digital marketing and collects feedback from schools that use our programme. Hannah works alongside Beth and Louise to continually reflect and improve the programme, with a particular focus on accessibility for SEND students.

Hannah is a secondary school teacher with 19 years’ experience.

Hannah is our Operations Coordinator; handling everything involved in the day to day running of the charity, including schools’ bookings and membership. She is also our key Supporter Rep, organising our engagement with our supporters and our fundraising events.

She is a trained secondary school teacher with extensive experience in the voluntary sector.

Beth is a qualified youth worker and has also worked as a carer for looked after children.

She has worked with Respected for 6 years and is our Lead Educator. Beth oversees the team of educators and has a particular passion for supporting disadvantaged young people overcome the challenges they face.

Beth came to the UK in Year 10 after travelling with her family around Europe and Africa.

Emmy is a qualified youth worker. She studied Theology and Youth Work and has worked for various charities since the age of 18.

Emmy started as a Respected educator in 2023 when she covered the role of Lead Facilitator during a staff maternity leave. She became very passionate about Respected’s vision and has stayed on as a volunteer.

Louise has worked as a GP in Bristol and Bournemouth for over 20 years, with a particular interest in sexual health. She has been teaching RSE, including the Respected Programme, in schools for 15 years.

Louise believes strongly in young people’s ability to make healthy choices when properly equipped and supported and longs to see all young people having healthy and fulfilling relationships. Away from Respected, she loves the outdoors, the beach and playing tennis.

Maria has a background in healthcare education for the NHS. She has worked in secondary schools as a Teaching Assistant and is also a mum of three teenagers.

Maria is passionate about helping young people to flourish and has been a Respected volunteer since 2021. Maria particularly enjoys exploring the Dorset countryside with her husband.

Sam is a qualified secondary school teacher with experience of teaching both PSHE and RSE. He also has many years of experience of teaching the Respected Programme in local schools.

He seeks to instil the confidence and wisdom required to navigate the complexities of growing up in today’s every-changing world.

Ella has a degree in English and Education from the University of Cambridge and wrote her dissertation on body image. Ella has taught the Respected Programme in local schools and also worked as a tutor in schools.

She is currently working for a charity mentoring young people who are not currently in education or employment. She loves to see young people realising their full potential in life.

Hannah is a trained secondary school teacher with experience in both mainstream and SEND schools. She began volunteering as a Respected educator in 2023 and joined the staff team in September of the same year.


Hannah loves being able to combine facilitating with promoting and developing the Respected programme.
